I buy a lot of truck parts for my over the road trucks as well as stuff for my jalopies. Some time ago when they trying the new eBay motors, they called me because they noticed that I had opted out of the new eBay and they wanted the opinion of someone who had purchased over $100,000 worth of stuff on eBay motors. I told them what I thought of the new eBay motors, but they didn't listen. I now do a separate search for 56 Ford and 1956 ford in all of eBay motors and then narrow it down to newly listed. The first search gets around 1600 hits with either search. There will be a lot of listings duplicate because most sellers list 56 as well as 1956 but there will be some that come up on one and not the other and sometimes that is just the NOS part I am looking for. I think the new eBay stinks, but I don't think they will change it. I think the advice my parents gave me when the 56 Fords were still in the showroom still holds true today. "Yes, its an unfair world, but you're not going to change it. You have to learn to survive in an unfair world."

I use the "saved search" feature. Usually set to EBAY Motors and a list of words like "Y-block, yblock y block" etc. You can also list items or id's of people who list items you don't want to look at like "leather jackets for $272". Once the filters are set up it works ok. I also still prefer the old version! Chuck in NH

Search on the term;
Ford +(1955, 1956, 55, 56) -(sweatshirt, tune, more-search-terms-to-exclude)
This search term came up with 3,468 results. Add to the exclusion terms to winnow it down.

Same here- I wrote to them & complained when they first started it a while back, but you could go back to the old, which I did. Now, there will not be any going back. Why change a good thing when people are used to it & satisfied?? IT IS A BIG MISTAKE. I feel like you guys- I am losing interest after all these years.......... I will write once more and voice OUR opinions

I like it and use it regularly. Type in "y block ford" or specific ford you have ie., 55 ford. works great . Dont use Ebay motors use "all catagories" search. Then narrow it down from there. E-mail me I will look it up for you. wpccgrad@hotmail.com

When looking for stuff for my 54, all I do is type in 1954 Ford or 54 Ford in the search block and it brings up lots of parts and cars. I think you are making it too hard - Just type in 1955 Ford and go to it. No need for that other stuff you type in.

55 Birdman is right. Use "search all categories" not just ebay Motors. After 8 years of buying parts I find their constant tweaking a royal pain. I've complained and told them my input but they claim they have to keep fresh, new and current with what their users want. I say if it ain't broke don't fix it!
