I recently received an email titled "Regarding Your Car" . It referenced an add to sell my car on 1957fords.com...I have no add placed to sell my car. I responded saying that my car was not for sale and a few other comments. I received a response that sounded like we had a deal and he would be sending me a check, but his shipper would require payment first and insurance chages too. He said to wait till his check cleared and then send the money to the shipper. It was signed Martin Gray in Astoria, NY. I just wanted to make you all aware of this, it would probably be less alarming if a person did have a car for sale and get pulled in. I am 99.9% sure this is bogus.

Paul, It's a Phishing mail. Bogus. Don't answer it and BLOCK all further mail from that address. Do it NOW.

that's a skeem to get you to send a real check and you would loose your hard earned money.i have seen this in a similar fashion in the news with huge warnings,like recommended delete and block

DO NOT!!!!!!! answer back period!!!!!! Report like Frank said, a phishing scam trying to get information from you to steal your identity??? email???? and whatever else they can

I used to view the above mentioned website, but I started getting loads of spam and popups, so I quit looking a couple years ago. John's site has apparently been invaded by the scammers, phishers, and spammers.

By answering that email, the hustlers now know you still have a nice car to steal, and anyones' address can easily be obtained online. Hope you have a good security system!

I'd contact the local media and your local law enforcement,they are usually interested in new scams popping up

You are so right to be careful. I tried to sell my 1960 Studebaker on ebay and it did not sell at first. One of the guys who bid on it phoned me in a panic on my house and cell phones saying that my car was for sale for a second chance sale for a lot less than he had bid. Someone had hijacked my ebay ad and picture and also the bidders list and was trying to get them to buy my car. He told me the ebay site that he was asked to go to was almost perfect except for asking for his credit card number. There was no risk to me, other than my name, but to him lots of risk, if he paid and never got the car. I sold the car the next month to a guy from Long Island NY for 'merican greenbacks...worth 25% more than our Canadian funny money.
