Hey Guys, After 3 rebuild attempts I give up on my carb, does anyone know where I might find a new one? It's a 1956 f100, 272, 2bbl b6c-9510-d, I tried Ebay, no luck. The one real auto part store here on Long Island has no listing for a new carb. Mike

Mike: what was the problem with the carb to begin with? And now what is the problem? Maybe someone here can help sort it out.. I doubt there are many or any sources for those carbs new.

They show up on eBay ever so often. When am looking for something, I use search words like y-block, 56 Ford, etc. and then break it down by newly listed. Then I check the newly listed every day. Almost anything appears sooner or later. If you're lucky, it's at a time when no one else is looking for what you are looking for.

The carb Leaks down after you shut it off, and it's not the float needle that seats properly, I am trying to find the proper kit for it now, no luck locally, so the maiden voyage will just have to wait some more.

OK, I think I found my problem with getting the proper kit, I think my carb b6c-9510-d is a flathead carb, so i am getting the wrong kit for it, I saw a carb on ebay, but says it's for an automatic trans, and it looks totally different

Is it a Holley 94? Try Vintage Speed, they have remanufactured 94's, both Holley and Chandler Grove...

Also, is the float level set properly, to high will flood the engine...

Mike: I don't know if this applies to the 94s & 55-56 versions, but I had the same leak down problems with a 57 & later Holley 2300- 2Bbl. With the able help of Ted & John "H", it turned out that the very small orfices in the metering block were plugged.. Hope this helps..
