Hi Guys,

In attempt to remove my exhaust manifolds today( why is the center bolt so tuff? I saw the marking on my head, it is ECZ-C are these the stock 272 heads, for my 56, f100?

Tommorow i get to try and get out the last bolt, with the rounded head, to complete my mission. Oh, and somehow figure out how to get the dipstick repositioned so that they don't interfere with the headers.

Mike - I believe that the "C" heads came on all 56's.

Have you had a  look at using a Lokar flexible dipstick ?? That may help you with your header problem .

Checked Lokar, and of course no Y Listing, the Universal is 1/4" npt, I have to check today if that will be applicable.

Ahhh, Today, Waiting for a decent hour to go outside, and swear like an old drunken sailor trying to get out the last bolt.

I have some "free" advice to remove that head bolt. Take a good sized drift(3/4" or so) and place it against the head of the bolt. Then give it a sharp "rap" with a hammer. I have done this for many years, seems to knock the threads loose and frees the bolt ,like I said, Free.

Use a 6 point socket on tough bolts. Make sure the bolt head is fully engaged by the socket.
