Bought myself a little gift on ebay, I know fenton isn't the best, but the carbs are perfect. I just purchased a new 2bbl from Vintage Speed too, what a waste. anyway here is my plight:

My linkage setup is a rod that 90's into a hole and is attached by a jesus clip, this new setup has a little ball to attach to, Does anyone know where i might find the socket that goes over the little ball and perhaps is attached to a rod, or threads onto one.

Speedway motors has linkage in various lengths that has the ball socket no each end. you will have to put thread on the end of your linkage. I did that for mine a few years ago . works fine so far

Do you know it the setup was run with the linkage set like this?  It looks to me like the sliding link needs put one hole further up on the center carb lever.   This is in order to give full opening to the end carbs while having sufficient "slip" to allow the center carb to go pretty wide open before the end two come in.  Also check to see that that they all are wide open at the end of the full stroke of the center carb.  The more stroke you can arrange on the center carb before bringing the other two in the better milage you will get.  Also put a light return spring on the outside carbs so that they stay closed until you want them and they follow the pusher closed when you lift off. You really need this spring if you are not using the acceleration pumps on the end carbs.

This a lot easier to set up on the bench and before they are filled with gas.  BTW the 3/2 set I had put the sliding link to the front carb which might give more space for linkage to the firewall.  Function will be the same.

I do not think that the Fenton's are much worse than the Edelbrocks and they have got to be better than the Offy's

Thanks to both of you, the speedway hint, and I was wondering why the dumpers engaged so early !

Thanks,

Mike
