Went to the web site to check out the Y-block---"BEAUTIFUL", very well detailed! checked out the section on dyno pulls using different carbs on Edelbrock 573 tri-power manifold--!st-Speedways 9Super7carbs=243 HP@5,400 with 278 ft/lbs@3,500, next they used Holley ECG-5 carbs with Vintage Speed primary/secondary bases & jetting = 252 hp@5,400 with 284 ft/lbs@ 3,800--3rd was with same Holleys but change out bases to original ECG-5 bases with spark valves & changed primary carb jet to #56 and secondarys to #58=253hp@5,400 and 277 ft/lbs@3,500 but remember that venturi size was 9Super7 carbs at 97/100"=155 cfm and Holleys were 1 1/16"=185 cfm, they stated that Speedways 9Super7's held their own to the Holleys until about 4,500 rpm when Holleys greater flow kicked in! I wonder what the Barry Grant carbs would have done in comparision? Ya gotta like all this interest in the Y-block,hope it kindles ideas for new parts or reproduction of old ones again! KID
