John great that you finally made it to the site! You have a wealth of knowledge, so fill free to jump in at any time. How about a update on your new intake and heads?
By Ted - 16 Years Ago
John.  Welcome to the site.  We’ll definitely look forward to your insights and experiences into some of the idosyncrasies on these engines.  And glad to hear you’ve stepped up to hi-speed internet.  I’m envious as satellite service is the only hi-speed service option in my area and unfortunately the pricing of that service has essentially prevented me from getting on the high speed band wagon.
By DANIEL TINDER - 16 Years Ago
Ted,

Keep checking. Many phone companies are continuing to make high-speed service available to rural dial-up customers. I believe eventual DSL speed is determined by distance to central equipment.
By John Mummert - 16 Years Ago
Thanks for the welcome. We had the phone co check for DSL when we moved here but we're 15,880 ft to the closest station....won't work. Then tried ATT wireless device....it was also connection-less. Returned it and got cable.

Seems like you guys have most of the topics well covered but if I can help I'll try.

I'm just here to keep tabs on FrankTongueTongue

The cable connection has allowed me to update the website, get prices up to date and show new items.

John, I want to welcome you as well.  I bought many parts from you last year to build my motor and have been very pleased with the quality and your willingness to talk to a neophyte with the Y-block.  Thanks again, and keep up the good work.

Welcome, John.  Now we have another expert to correct me when I make a false statement.

Pegleg, what did you do to get your post on at 3:12?  Just sit there until 312 and hit the "post" button?

John,

Welcome to the site.  Thanks for all your insight and products.  You have helped me and others a great deal.

By Nick Brann - 16 Years Ago
Hey John,  I would also like to welcome you to the site.  Like Charlie Burns said, you've helped a lot of us with excellent parts and great advice.  The 312 I built a few years ago is running fine with your valve springs, Blue Thunder intake, ARP rod bolts, etc.  Looking forward to your comments on various questions.  Nick Brann, K.C., MO

Thanks again to all of you for the warm welcome. Charley, are you headed to Bonneville this year? If so, good luck.

Welcome, John Mummert.  I have referenced your web site for the vast knowledge you impart, for the benefit of all Y-Block restorers.

Periodically, I find myself re-visiting your site 'just to make sure' before I buy used parts or retrofit OEM.  Great site, John.  Thanks again for sharing your vast experiences, references, and Y-Block resources.

Mr Y-Guy Hisself(that's what "honest charlie" would say...)

Welcome!  Please give some thought to coming to Columbus

this year. Frank, hopefully has his U-joint fixed, Vic has  some

new head gaskets, and if you "cheer" them on, you could take

"orders" after each round. Everyone would want to show YOU

how good "your" parts work, me included.

Jokes aside, give it some thought, everyone would enjoy

            seeing you.                Thanks, Bill

Burning rubber or gun powder, either one is fine with me.

re: my Y-Blocks: Like most business owners, mine come last. Simply put they're in a state of disrepair. I got back into Y-Blocks in 1994 when I bought a 1954 F-100, like I had when I was 19.

It still looks like the day I brought it home. Uhg-lee.

If you watched any of the Bullrun series on Speed Channel you might have seen the green Team Dart Mopar. Paul and son Tony are good friends and we built the 414cu in small block mopar for the car in trade for a paint job on my truck. If I can just find time to get the truck to him.

Thanks for the welcome..BigGrin

By John Mummert - 16 Years Ago
Okay, so long as I can use a really old picture instead of a new picture of an old guy

Is 1967 recent enough?

BTW, this picture was taken by my sister for a school project showing the hazards of NOT wearing a helmetw00t

By pegleg - 16 Years Ago
Wow, it's Steve McQueen!!!!!!!!w00t
By DANIEL TINDER - 16 Years Ago
I have a photo of myself EXACTLY like that, on a new '66 305 scrambler! When I showed it to my company medical officer, he said...hmmm, "line of duty, NO!"
By Hoosier Hurricane - 16 Years Ago
Is that really Steve McQueen?  I think it's the double they used for  Evel Kneivel in all his photographed jumps.
By Moz - 16 Years Ago
