engine block and head info

ok i am working on it as can tell by my post. well this is the info on castings i got... the engine block above the oil filter is B9AE 6015 F the heads is where i kind of am getting stuck this is the casting numbers inside under the valve covers on the head stamped-6090 DIF and on the ouside by the exhaust ports i have 6BE and a 22 cast into the head also i cant seem to find other numbers...the heads are on the car still..

B9AE-F     292 cu. in. V8     1959-60 cars and trucks. (312 with ECZ main caps, 1959 & 60 Mercury only)

6090 I believe are just the numbers for the valve cover but somebody else might now more about that.

ok so i may even have a 312.. great not to see if i have the good heads with it...

Try checking under the intake manifold water inlet area of the head at the front for other head casting numbers. Good luck. aussiebill.

Since you will have the pan off to change the lifters, you can look at the main caps.  If they have ECZ cast into them, it's a 312, EBU would be 292.
