Fellow Y-Blockers,
Wanted to give you guys an update on the progress of Dad's Pickup...he still has not figured out how to post pictures yet...LOL!!! So I am going to start.
Here is pops...doing some super critical adjusting to the rear main inner structure alignment thing with the all but necessary Snap-On special tool #332....
And here is the special Ted Eaton Forward Motion improvement upgrades 
Slowly getting it ready for the new un-natural aspiration of the latest centrifugal compressor...high tech stuff for sure.
We hired the super guru, only known as Matt...for all the super confusing engineering stuff, as you can see...he is well worth the money 
***For real, have not been around here much, work has me busy! Dad and I are getting something done (finally!) with his new engine...we will be ready for Columbus. Looking forward to driving the '60 up and having a good time hanging out with everybody!***
My buddy Matt...the "super engineer" in the pics is coming up also, he is die-hard blue oval guy...just likes a little newer version of the "V-8!"...
I'll post up some updates as they get done...I'm excited! Looking forward to a little R&R up in O-hi-O!

Hello Reed and Bill, Been a while, looks like the Alabama boys have been busy. Those engine parts look serious, just a little more boost? Corene and I would give anything to watch it in action and visit with you guys at Columbus, it's not likely, but miracles do happen.

Hey Charlie...
I know Columbus is a road trip for you guys, but I am sure everybody would be thrilled if you guys could make it...but if not, we just need to make a road trip to one of your races in the near future.
Yep, we are **planning*** on a little more boost this year, we now have the engine parts to hold up to it. Last year we were still on the original 40K mile engine So hopefully the updates will help us out a little.
Currently it is getting the H-beam Rods, Forged pistons...top secret stroker upgrade, big valve heads, a "turbo specific" camshaft and a much needed rebuild.
Dad has already installed an electric fuel pump with return line style regulator...last year we were loosing fuel pressure past the 1/8th mile traps...not good on a turbo motor's air/fuel ratio...so we had to lift a little so it would still drive us all the way back home .
He also has some upgraded suspension in the rear to help the launch, as well as a few other surprises in store....but rest assured the "re-bar" shifter is still in the truck

Bill & Reed, Sure will miss you guys . Can't make Columbus this year ,but I sure will be trying next year . Bill & Reed Too bad I cannot make it this year, would love to race you again!! Next time I might actually figure out where the brake pedal is so I don't break out again!!! AARRRRGGGG!!! It was still a fun race and at least I wasn't sleeping on the line like a certain Aussie ALWAYS tends to do!!!! LOL Safe trip and LOTS of fun at Columbus!!!!

Which motel are you staying at?Glen, Looking forward to putting a face with the screen name! Dad and I are staying in Heath...Super 8 I believe, but I will check! What day are you driving up? I think we might leave Thursday Nite and stop and rest somewhere around Bowling Green or Louisville...did that last year and it worked out great.

Any changes to the turbo since you've made so many with the engine?Have not changed anything yet with the turbo...but that could change. The current turbo does not "come in" until around 3800-4000, but that was on the stock engine. I hope with the additional displacement it might spool a little faster. If it does not, then I will repalce the exhaust housing to help it out a little. His current turbo will support an honest 450 HP at 8-10 psi...so, that should be enough for now

We started putting the heads on last night, have a couple of little snags to work through, but nothing major!
Here is a shot of our Harmonic Balancer adapter, made by a long time friend of my Dad's...puts a little more available balancer on the truck
Here is one for the Ohio crew...Richie, better put two plates on the hot rod!

Be sure to check out Big Bone Lick State Park in Kentucky. I stopped there on the way back last year. I just had to find out why they used that name.

Oh, I replied before the pictures loaded. Is that damper going to work with the other pullies? I had to go out to LA last year...and no, that is not LA as in Lower Alabama...that is like, California. For miles and miles you will see these sings...Cheif Yellow Bull, come visit the worlds largest miniature donkey...after 200 miles of seeing the signs, I had to go visit the donkey...some things are better left to the imagination! Dad has a lower pulley off some Chebby that lines up perfect with his waterpump and alt. pullies...but it took him a while of measuring with his tape, string and straight edge to figgure it all out. We will post up some pics of that later. Reed

As a general rule, the higher the horsepower or cubic inch, then the greater the weight needs to be. Here are just a few of the ATI dampers that are offered without hubs:6” – P/N 918940 – 2.4 lb inertia weight 7” – P/N 917009 – 3.5 lb inertia weight 7” – P/N 917010 – 8.75 lb inertia weight 8” – P/N 917007 – 7 lb inertia weight

Thanks Ted Which one would you recommend, for hopefully a 400 hp Y ?For the time being, I’ll suggest the 6” damper. I currently have both the 6” and 7” units sitting here that will be tested on both the EMC engine and a 322 inch Y in the near future. At that point, I expect to have a better feel for what the Y engines prefer with different levels of build. The 337” Y in my roadster has the 6” ATI damper but that’s all that’s ever been on that particular engine.
