My patent plate looks terrible, most of the paint is peeled off it, is it possible or even legal to have a new plate made?

Yup. I used AG Backeast; they advertise in the FOMOCO times, hemmings, etc. Did a terrific job, and even included the correct rivits to reattach. Very simple.
Let me know if you cant find their info and ill try to dig it up!

Hello MG! Very nice set of wheels! Tee-Bird.com sells a decal which gives the black background and allows the raised numbers and letters to show through cutouts.Part # DC-22. Price is $1.10.Have a look at their online catalogue.Pretty sure Macs and other parts suppliers have them too.

Quite a few years ago I had my data plate replaced with one by A. G. Backeast. Their web address is:
www.datatags.com
It was pricey at $100 back in 1994. They required the old plate and proof of ownership. It was a beautiful reproduction and it did include the special rivits as mentioned above. Really makes that door opening show off.

They quoted me $80.00 plus five bucks postage.
Thanks
