Is there a place on here where people post pictures of their cars and motors. I would like to see some of your cars and motors. I see them on your posts but would like to see more of them.

Hey Ted, Can you set up another section for cars and their owners pictures? That would be nice to "see" who I am talking with.

I’ll agree that the Profiles area is still the official place for information regarding members rides. From my end, the Profiles section appears to be working okay but there may be some browsers that are not as friendly with the format as mine. If having trouble with bringing up the profiles, just give some feedback as to exactly what kinds of problems or errors are being experienced so that the appropriate troubleshooting can take place. When going to the profiles section, be sure to ‘zoom in’ as deemed necessary and then drag the map around as it will move somewhat when clicking on the various ‘tacks’ to bring up those members names who have submitted profiles. Here are some examples of profiles from the Profiles section: http://www.y-blocksforever.com/Profile_holunwong-tx.html http://www.y-blocksforever.com/Profile_jerrychristianson-mn.html http://www.y-blocksforever.com/Profile_randygummelt-tx.html

Ted, I can see the Profiles for North American Members but not the Off Shore Members (Seppo's for example). But then again are your trying to tell us something?? All I get is "Page Not Available" for Off Shore Profiles. Didn’t believe there was a hidden message there until going back to the Profiles section and looking at them in more detail. I originally only looked randomly at some of the North American profiles and all those I looked at were okay. But I’ve since looked at the offshore areas and although the names come up under the markers, the individual profiles are not working. I then looked at all the profiles in detail and the only ones that do work (subjective term) are in the United States with not all those actually coming up. And Charlie, I didn’t see anything for you so you are currently lost (another subjective term). I’ve already passed this on to Jim to see what it will take to resolve this. I suspect this is something related to the last forum revamp and I’m sure he’ll figure it out. He always does. Thanks for pointing out the problems. It’s difficult to come across these issues until they are pointed out.

Hi ted, as usual you,re on the job, for over a year or so, only 2 profiles have been represented in australia, that pesky drag racer and shane hill, so i guess jim may be able to get the others up. the sites sure getting busy with new members finding their way with these engines and cars, i think we all can picture back when we were trying to work things out at that age, oh! i miss that!. Thought the guys might like a peak at latest project?

Hi dave, good eyes, yes its a 30 A model coupe, chopped 3" channeled 4". my plan is C2AE 292 with this 4.71 blower and CRAGAR blower intake, they are scarce for sure! running 4 speed top loader with jeep shift lid fitted to box, so shifter sticks out of box like early ford. cant tell you too much more, there could be spys out there! I,.m more worried about new envisaged rego laws and may be harder to get registered, so i,m going like hell to get it finished and see what happens. May see you at V alla run soon? Best regards, aussie bill. OR i might go this way.

Hey Bill, as a British car fan I like the use of the SUs! Brings together my to favorites.
|
By aussiebill - 16 Years Ago
|
Tim, yes the poor old SU carb has been much underestimated and misunderstood, they are a simple carb and this setup ran really strong on 56 customline in the 70,s. I used to convert any single su british car set up to twin su,s in the 70,s and made great improvements. best one i did was twin Vertical su,s from very early wolsley onto triumph herald, i know you would have enjoyed that, Best regards aussiebill

I sent my Profile in a while back, probably 3 months ago, I don't think its been posted yet. I haven't been able to find mine on ther yet. Michael

Bill, I agree about the SUs, too many people don't understand them so that makes them junk. I think they are a fine and simple carb, I replaced the single Solex on Kathys Herald with a dual set up off a Spitfire and I run a single HD8 on the Supercharged TR6. I also think the Quadra-jet is one fine carburetor but they too take a lot of bad mouthing. Ignorance breeds contempt, something every Y guy should be use to.

Jim is working on the profiles problem. He mentioned that this will take awhile though but he is making headway towards getting them all visible again. If you originally had a profile or sent one in and don’t see it coming back to life within the next 2-3 weeks, just email another to Jim another so it can be reposted.

(center) Frank! its enderle, i,ve been thinking about this for a while now and as most of us are coming down the home stretch, i thought i,d like people to see what great y block engine parts were around before they are scattered to the 4 winds and never seen again. I have been involved in these for over 40 yrs and have an interesting collection, so if no one minds i will post pics now and then for all to share. Of things i dont have are the Bud valve covers, horne intake and algon injection which are so scarce! Ted, i have been struggling to get writing to stay in one paragraph but the pics seem to split it up, so am trying the IF Code shortcuts? These are the early and late WEIAND Covers. Best regards to all. aussiebill. (/center)

The top set were made by the Mag Wheel Center in Sydney during the late 60,s on, by coincedence i had put my 56 customline into them to have radiused rear wheel archs done like a Buick at the time. The 2nd set are unknown and there were many home grown covers made, as the US was worlds away in those days. Best regards aussiebill.

tim i could do with a few more utes the old girls are getting a bit rare now 3 more would make a good retirement fund. i love your effie it looks cool sam & tom i did take the picture the wrong way round it should be upside down too lol. daniel cant say for sure but i think clockwise we have to flush with the lid down as being down under if you leave the lid up it all comes out & you get soaked. bill what can i say the customline needs a buff first & it just aint the weather for it some one sent the sydney weather to geelong, anyway when you get the a model on the road ya better bring it down here for a cut & polish lol.

Here is a pic taken today of my '46: http://www.ford-trucks.com/user_gallery/tmp/220/220296.520.390 We struggled with the hood for 2 hours and have to wait to complete the installation until I can find out how the hood springs mount. It has been at least 14 years since the hood was on, so there isnt a lot of remembrance left.

Well guys, whatever problems we see on the site are because of my failings! I try to work an hour or two every night on profiles, I am working on the S.E. area now and will move on to the off shore profiles as soon as finish up the Americas ones. If I can ever take some time away from Nokia, I should be able to make more progress. Although there are two co-admins for the forums, the main part of the site is a one man band.

latest pic's of the Bird - its sat un-touched for the last couple of months - too danged hot to go out in the garage........
Nerf bars were made to look like the Ford "Battlebird" - Mustang 16 inch wheels and short rubber....

Grille came back from the plater after photo - still isn't on and I need to finish testing the hood seal set-up. Had to get a junker scoop grille off ebay and cut the bars out - otherwise whistles like crazy....
