The journal diameter of the 223 seems to be the same as the 292. I was hoping to use a neoprene rear main seal on the 223 that I'm bolting together. Has anybody used a 292 V8 seal on the 223?

No according to a couple auto part sites, but C&G Early Ford Auto Parts offers a neoprene seal.
