Fellas- I need to change out the pilot bushing before I get to bolting things( bell, pressure plate, etc) on to the back of my motor. I don't have anything (old input shaft, for example) that fits the hole close enough to pack it w/ grease and do it like that. I don't have a slide hammer, (bushing set either). I'm hoping someone may have an easy way to get the old bushing out (?) I'm totally at a loss for ideas.... -Thanks- /Duck

Use a socket which is close to the same diameter with an extension and use the grease method.

I used a tight fitting dowel rod after filling the bushing with grease

I agree with Charlie.A socket ,an extension , a medium sized hammer and some grease.

If all else fails, go to autozone and loan out a pilot bearing puller. you get your money back minus tax when you bring the tool back, no grease mess and have the right tool for the job.

or buy one from harborfreight for under 25 dollars.
