Guys:

Had an email forwarded to me from Gordon Payne.  Holley has filed for bankruptcy.  Not good news.  Not only Holley brand, but their associated brands such as Earls, Weiand, and others.

I read that day before yesterday. It looks bad. they just emerged from chapter 11 last year by securing some new loans. Now they can't service their debt. And God only knows how many other companies got in debt over their heads with leveraged buyouts thinking the good times would roll on forever. I will be 66 years old next month. I don't think I will see the true bottom when things really begin to turn around during my business career.

BAD BAD NEWS!

Just saw this thread.  Man, more bad news.  Fri. or Sat. Chrysler said it was shutting down one of its JEEP plants for a week, even though it produced its only solid selling vehicle, for lack of parts from suppliers.

My son in law works for Hella in Rock Hill SC and was told that the plant is shutting down due to lack of sales. The company makes headlight assemblies for Chrysler, Mercedes, Toyota,Honda and a few others. The plant is closng not relocating to China as a lot have done. The plant next to his makes carpet for automobiles and they have shut down 2 shifts.  Things are it seems to be getting worse instead of better as the "big boys" in DC say.

Got that right. I heard unemployment is still increasing. Something I watch regularly is the value of the $. For about the entire length of the rally in the stock market, the value of the dollar has steadily declined. That's something they don't tell us about on the news. As a result, there really has not been much of a gain, if any.

We are now seeing the effects of the so called "quick surgical bankruptcies" that Chrysler and GM were forced into.
