Joe is a great friend and very special guy who will be missed very much. I always looked forward to chatting with him in Columbus OH on labor day weekend. The things he did like furnishing chairs for us at the yblock tent, he's simply awesome!!!!

That's too bad. Was he one of the lively ones there 2 years ago?

What an unpleasant surprise! Joe was one of the really good guys that I've met in the world! What a gentle spirit. I know he had slowed down but didn't realize he had any life threatening problems. It wasn't from his bump on the head this year was it? He was an important part of the Y-Block crew and will be sorely missed. Chuck in NH

So sorry to hear about Joe. He was a true asset to our group. He will be missed. He gave me a "good luck" buckeye from his yard a couple years ago. I think it was the year I broke the rear end. I still have the buckeye though, now I have a reason to keep it.

We are very sorry to hear about Joe. He called me about four weeks ago and we talked for some time. I never had a clue he was ill. He wanted to get a copy of the 2008 Columbus video to share with a friend. I'm sure he was just promoting the Y-Block and doing what he did best by sharing with someone he cared for. To his family and those who knew him, We are thinking of you and your missed love one.

Guys, sorry to hear of another loved fellow y blocker passing the finishing line, i feel we all are concious that a lot of our generation are in the fast lane, so lets keep the information flowing to educate the following generation, as i feel its only been our lot that has kept the legend alive! Good health to all! Best regards bill.

This is VERY sad news! Joe had become a good friend at Columbus and he was always right in the middle of Lon's and my antics. He was a lot of fun and I now regret not being able to share his humour at Columbus this past year. My deepest sypathy & prayers to his family and friends! Joe you WILL be missed! Goodbye good friend may you have eternal peace!
