Hi fellas... looks like I might have found a new home here. Been lurking awhile, but its time to get busy with new project... a recently acquired `57 Tbird that sat ignored for 4 years.

There arent many active Early-bird sites/forums, and I mostly need to be around folks that talk Y-Blocks anyway.

My first challenge, besides a jellied fuel system front to back, was sorting out the DuCoil (dual coil) dizzy set-up... timing was fubar and was firing only on four holes.

She's a 292 +.060 block, ECZ 312 heads, a mild/street bumpstick, with a unidentified (soon to be Blue Thunder) intake, and a Autolite 4100 shoebox. I can only hope it's got a stroked 312 crank, but I'm getting ahead of myself.

Just wanted to say 'hi' and intro... I'll be asking some questions no doubt, and hopefully I can contribute... I'm not a complete stranger to MEL's, FE's, and Y-blocks.

I do have a pressing question but will post it separately... I wanna get my post count to "Supreme Being" asap.

Cheers... Brian

Welcome to the site.  Ask away with your questions as it’s a very diverse group of members that frequent this site and typically one of them will have an answer to most questions that are posed.  And feel free to respond to questions which you believe you can also help with.  Welcome again!

Yahoo has a site called CLASSICBIRDS which is pretty active. This is the best for engines and you get lots of help on other stuff besides.

Hello, Brian- T-bird's are spoken here. Enjoy! Paul- would you mind posting (or PM me) a link to that site? I've heard of it on and off for quite some time, but have never been able to locate it. -Thank You- /Duck

Hi Duck,  Try   http://www.classicbirds@yahoogroups.com  .  There are some really knowledgeable people on the site, like John Sailors.  They also have sites for the later T-Birds, like '58-60 Squarebirds.  Have fun, Nick Brann - K.C.,  MO

Nick- This is an E-mail address?

Duck... I thought that too, but then I put a "dot" after the w's and it went to a site... navigating that site is another matter... I got lost and gave up... may try it again when I have time.

Cheers... Brian

Hi Guys,  Sorry I left the dot out of the address.  Thought I put it in.  Once you go to it, I think you have to have a yahoo account.  It is free to sign up for one, no big deal.  You supply a user name and a password of your choosing.  Then you will get emails with questions and replies from the group.  I think there are about 800 people who participate in the messages.  I've gotten some good information from them.  Good luck, Nick Brann - K.C., MO
