I'm wanting to make my Fairlane safer, where is the best vendor for supplying the dual bowl master cylinders?

Advance Auto,AutoZone , O'reillys, or even Napa. Thay should have what you need . Just depends on what brakes you have  Disc/drum etc. I use a 79 Granada master cylinder.

Does this replace the original master cylinder or is it a seperate mount and incorporated into the brake system which in my case is all drum brakes. I'm interested in having brakes in case

one of my brake cylinder kit lets go.

Also could you post a pic of your master cylinder mounted.

Thanks.

Mine uses the same mount holes as the stock one. I used the original push rod. But I have a T-Bird not a Fairlane. Mine is for front disc rear drums.  Will post pic tomorrow need to charge batteries.

If you have drums all around, try an early Mustang, Torino full drum brake master cylinder. Do not use a master designed for disk/drum. The bolt pattern should be the same as the bottom two bolts on your 55. Just put in a bolt in the other two holes.

I've also read elsewhere on this site...69 Bronco with drums?  There is a pretty good thread somehwere

I'm also looking to do the same thing.
