I go a replacement cap for a 56 TBird and it was 13 lbs. I think I have a 7 pounder on it now.

I went to a 7 lb. cap on my ’55 Customline due to the 13 lb. cap continually causing problems with breaking the soldered seal on the top tank on the radiator.  Zero issues since going to the 7 lb. cap.

Too high pressure cap will break the radiator solder as Ted mentioned.

I use use a low pressure cap for a coolent recovery reservoir system.

I turned my "SeeClear" washer bag in to my radiator overflow reservoir.    Looks stock and old school and works perfect.  Just remove the check ball in the cap plug the extra nipple, and hook a black hose to your overflow tube.
