Are there replacememt ( new or used ) crown and pinions available ???? What ratios ??Lon

It's been a while, but I think the wagon, like the '55 56 'bird used a Dana 44. Check out the Jeep sites, they used the same gears and limited slips for years, and for all I know, still do. The guy that changed mine from 4:11 to 3:23 (or so) and put the limited slip in did primarily Jeep work. Wilcap (?) the old Tony Campana company still makes fined rear covers, but they won't clear my sway bar. As an aside, one of my buddy's is doing a '40 Ute full custom up here (Seattle) but he went with a late model Mustang motor, also from down under. Can't talk sense to some of these younger guys.

Y-Guy Lon        If, in fact, it is a Dana, look at the housing where the axle tubes

attach and in the reinforce webbing there will be a number(44, 60,30,35)

cast into it and that will tell you which Dana it is. When you go to change ratio's,

the carrier will have to be changed if you go below 3.73(I think)

Let me know what ratio you decide on and I may be able to

get a "good" price on the ring&pinion and bearing kit.....

There is a "bill of materials" number "stamped" in the right(usually)

axle tube about 1-2 inches out from the center section. It wil be #-#######

and that will tell us all the info, unless someone has been "into" it before.
