I once bought a 1966 Shelby GT 350 that was a former drag strip car. The motor had been replaced with a later 302 but in the trunk were a pair of fully ported VHS, Valley Head Service HIPO heads AND a fordged Y block crank that had been used  in the 289 block. I of course traded it for some junk. OH WELL. Pete

Bill, thanks for the photos. Later on next week, I do plan to tear into my B9AE block that I just purchased. I had no idea that it could have a steel forged crank, but I do believe that this is most probably a replacement. If that is the case, it should spec out with minimal wear. I am pretty eager to get into it, but I do not have too much time. Just hung my Y block banner in the new pole barn/garage with no floor, no electric, and no garage doors. But, it's official!BigGrin

Yeah, open house would be fun.  What's the weather like in VA this time of the year? BigGrin

Obviously the heading for this thread is incorrect, as McTim hinted. The pics are of a C1TE 292 steel crank.

BTW: Bill, rockers are on the way.

Yes john, i realised that and couldnt edit that part so added it in description, thanks for rocker update, regards bill
