I started a post back in the summer about me having some Prostate problems. Some of you know how bad I have been feeling in the past 6 months. Go to the Dr. take meds start to feel better, meds run out, start to feel bad again etc!
I finally went to a specialist and I'm currently awaiting on blood results and I am scheduled to have a CT scan on Jan 7th for a Pelvic Mass. (I'm having severe pain in my hips)
I have all the text book symptoms of prostate issues but the Dr said it was not enlarged, thats why I'm going for the scan to see whats going on.
I didnt race in september as I was feeling bad, and I was hurting when I walked, well now I'm on all kinds of meds and feeling better again but scared of what is the cause of all this.

Did they do a PSA test? If not have one done! Thats the first clue of a prostrate problem. Good luck. Chuck in NH (Prostrate survivor)

I am hoping for the best outcome Kevin. Glad to hear the scan is 1/7, thought it was later. Is this the first time seeing a specialist? If so he should be able to get to the problem pretty fast.

That sucks. I am sure you are worrying for nothing. I have had major pain for years....just need to do what needs to be done.

Keep a positive attitude. Watch funny movies. Go to a comedy club. Heal yourself with laughter. Do your best to avoid any negative thoughts, particularly those about yourself. The mind has amazing power. It is the reason placebos work. Try to put the placebo into effect without having to take the placebo.

I will be praying for you as well. I know if we live long enough all of us could have prostate problems, my father and my uncle both had trouble. As Charlie said keep you spirits up and don't think about it too much.

Kevin, we are literally knee-deep in snow right now out here in Winchester, VA, but I will be sure to let our church know about your situation and we will add you to our prayer list. We should have our next service on Wednesday evening. Tomorrow doesn't look good at all because of the road conditions... About 80-90% of the fellas that I know that have dealt with prostate cancer have come out on top. Daniel Jessup, Associate Pastor, Lighthouse Baptist Church, Winchester, VA www.ligthousewinc.com

I want to thank everyone for your replies and positive words.
I'm probably making a mountain out of an ant hill!
Whats really bad is its all my fault that this went on as long as it has. I trusted my family Dr and he would treat me for Prostititis (infection in the prostate) and never did a PSA test as he said "its going to come back bad as your prostate is enlarged"
The Urologist almost laughed at the diagnosis of Prostititis from the family Dr.
Anyhow, blood has been taken for the PSA test, The meds I'm on now are making me feel better than I have felt in the last 6 months. This past Monday and Tuesday I could barely walk from the pain and it was a pain like no other.
I'm glad I shared this with you as I consider you Y-block guys family.

Bigwin, as you know, I have dealt with alot of pain. The worst part is thinking about it,and not keeping busy. Why do you think I immerse myself into my collection of 56s so much? I have alot wrong, and will be o.k.......so will you!! Who else will you have to argue with? LOL

Sure it isn't just arthritis? I have it in my hips.
Went through the prostrate thing ( big "C"). An injection of some hormones and some radiation and its seems to be all gone - going on three years now. Most everything back to normal. It is something most people come out ok on.
Get the PSA test.
