I know it is a little early to start but what the heck! I just went to pick up my gift from my wife last night and I couldn't be happier. I always knew she loved me but this is great! I wish each and every one of you the same happiness that I have, and it is not just the gift that does it. Merry Christmas to all of you on this site! It has been a great year!

Tim,
Your a lucky guy. I remember 1969 when I spent all we had in our account to purchase a 1962 Triumph 650 Bonneville. Almost sounded as good as my 56 312 Y.
My wife purchased me a complete rebuild kit with a couple of gears for my toploader. Now I can really grab second, that is when I get it done.
Merry Christmas to my Y-Block Family!

Tim,
Watch out for those crash bars. My neighbor's Vincent Black Shadow had them, until he caught the rear bumper of an oncoming car back in the early 60s. They had to cut his leg out from under them with a torch.
Merry Xmas, lucky!

Tim, congratulations on the Triumph. I can hardly wait to see it in person. Corene really made my Christmas, she got me a new set of Mustang II 2" dropped spindles. I did my best for her and got her new rotors, bearings, seals and ball joints. Now if anyone believes that last part, you are very gullible.

One year for her birthday (which is valentines day, btw) my wife got 4 brake drums for a 56 sunliner. And she liked it!

I went through the Macs catalog and wrote down all the pieces I needed/wanted for my car, and sure enough she got all of them for me. And she only needed one check from me to do it!

Hey Tim- that's a beautiful bike. Congratulations! For Christmas my wife got me one half of a root canal on one of my lower teeth. Not as exciting as Y-block parts, but at least my tooth doesn't hurt any more. Do we know how to have fun, or what? I guess I need to make up a better wish list before Christmas. Enjoy that Triumph- Nick Brann, K.C., MO

Heh. I got some handmade bookmarks from my daughter. On one of them, she made a Massey-Ferguson 97 pulling a hayrack--very appropriate!

I got an inexpensive dedicated digital capacitance meter. Was finally able to test the big bag of NOS condensers I bought cheap on eBay. I know resin-based antique electrolytics' values are usually way out of spec, but I thought the tinfoil & oiled paper condensers might be an exception. Boy, was I wrong! Looks like, the older they are, the higher the capacitance. Most all will likely prove unusable for dialing-in breaker point metal transfer, as their values tested 40% higher than OEM specs. Good for emergency replacement only, and if they'll actually work when hot is likely a crap-shoot.

That's a beautiful bike Tim, You have a really unique stable, and a very cool wifey. I got a shot in the arm (cash ) from the in-laws for a set of new shoes for the '60, and a lot of little doo-dads for the 'Bird...hope to have the 'Bird back together again before the weather turns fair again to make my wifey happy, and hoping to bring the '60 to the Eagle Field drags in May for a possible grudge match race with Tim's '58...

Todd, I don't know how evenly matched we would be, 500 against a 313, but I suppose I could give you a couple of car lengths. Here's a little video of the bike. Since it was shot I have adjusted the valves and tuned it a bit, runs a lot better. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AnvSTH4U_so

Loved the bike!!!
I got some stuff for my car.
A set of NOS headlight doors seals, two NOS turn signals, that I instaled at 3 pm on the 25th, and a '67 Fairlane GT from GMP, 1:18 scale.
You know you are "different" when all your relatives are oppening presents containing socks, all kinds of clothes, laptops, etc, and you are oppening presents containing ald bags and cases with old parts for your old car, and being the happiest of men
I love being "dofferent". Normal people just don't know what they're missing!!

I received one today. It is a pair of repair manuals for Ford 6-Cylinder Engine G Series 1941-1947 and Transmissions, Clutches, Overdrives, and Power Take-Offs 1932-1947. They belonged to my aunt's father. She's my aunt by marriage so I'm not sure if that makes him a great grandfather or what.
They are in excellent condition for being 64 years old!

Tim
Great looking Trumpy.
I have the original sales catalogue/brochure for the '48 Speed Twin scanned which I got off the internet some years back.
PM with your private email address and I will send it over a couple of days.
The files are quite large 4Mb but there are a couple of really good art pictures of the bike which will frame up nicely when printed.
Drop me a line if you are interested.
Regards
