The overdrive solenoid and switches are only on the cars that came with o'drive. The relay mounted on the firewall, near the wiper motor on the vehicles I've seen.The kickdown switch should be under the gas pedal.
The solenoid and governor are on the transmission itself.
The white-red wire is for the oil pressure idiot light. The wire from the coil to the o'drive is the same color but not the same wire. I guess they only had so many choices of colors. The purpose of the wire to the coil is to interupt the ignition (cause a miss) to take the load off the o'drive so it can shift.
