Reading this WIRING DIAGRAM?

Okay, this is going to sound stupid but, I am assuming the overdrive kickdown switch, and attached wires, are only present if you have the overdrive transmission, not just a regular Fordomatic? If that's NOT the case and they're on every vehicle, where is it located? I've started the BASIC rewiring and I only have one wire(as of now) coming from the negative part of the coil (goes to the distributor).

ALSO, there's a white, AND RED, wire that goes to the original temp sensor, no? If so, what should I do with these, now I've hooked up a new (mechanical) Temp sensor/gauge, and they're not needed?

The overdrive solenoid and switches are only on the cars that came with o'drive. The relay mounted on the firewall, near the wiper motor on the vehicles I've seen.

The kickdown switch should be under the gas pedal.

The solenoid and governor are on the transmission itself.

The white-red wire is for the oil pressure idiot light. The wire from the coil to the o'drive is the same color but not the same wire. I guess they only had so many choices of colors. The purpose of the wire to the coil is to interupt the ignition (cause a miss) to take the load off the o'drive so it can shift.

Okay perfect..I'm just curious though, how am I supposed to hook up wiring to the oil pressure??? It came with aftermarket gauges so??? Man this is the one bad thing about people modding their vehicles without proper documentation.

If you are still going to use the idiot light just run the white/red wire to a pressure switch. Power goes to the other side of bulb. The pressure switch just supplies the ground when pressure is low. The senders can go in any of the 1/4" pipe holes on the side of the block, oil, not water. Early blocks had a specific bung behind the oil filter for the sender. (Around 59) Later blocks used the pipe plug near the fuel pump.

If you're not using the light, just tape off the wire.

I currently have a "T" fitting at the original sensor bung on my '55 (behind the filter) to run both idiot light & mechanical pressure gauge. As this configuration is quite crowded/hard to access, I plan to run a separate connection for the gauge on the new engine, as the reinforced oil/gauge line is plenty long. The plug next to the fuel pump looks like it might also restrict access, so I HAD planned on using the one under the block drain, as it looks like the one nearest the steady-rest bracket could also be troublesome. I could always shield the oil line when changing coolant (anti-freeze hard on neoprene?). Comments from experience?
