I got a unusual radio instalation kit for a 55 coming that I got off ebay and I got it for the starting bid,it mounts the radio where the speaker is and uses the radio hole for the speaker. The pics did not show the whole kit but I hope I can modify it to accept a modern radio that I have now mounted under the seat,it was made my Motorola to put a Motorola radio of some kind in it. I was going to bid on the face plate for a Motorola radio made to fit in the dash to get the chrome bezel as I have a marine remote mounted in a factory radio delete plate and its painted as close as I could get to the dash and I want chrome,if the kit wont work the kit came with a chrome bezel for where the radio goes and can use it to keep the marine remote but I hope I can use it to mount the modern radio. The marine remote wont show all the functions of the radio or I cant set the stations with it too so I hope I can use this thing to get the radio on the dash without cutting it up.

Junkyardjeff, do you have the EBay number, sometime you can still see recently sold items. I like weird things for our cars and would like to see your item.
I got a NOS Arvin after market heater for my '55 off EBay. Never been in a car, in original packaging with mounting instructions and templates. Mounts under the dash instead of on the firewall location.
Sounds like you have a neat and rare find.

It arrived today and I think I can make it work,I was expecting something different that went into the speaker hole but after cutting the hole for the modern radio I can cover it with a vinyl that matches. Its number 160388886548 but the pics do not show much but it did come with a new chrome bezel for where the radio originaly goes and I can use it if I keep the marine remote in the original radios location,right now I have two small speakers where the original went and will have to figure out where to put them if I mount the radio in the speaker location.
