Can anyone tell me what a camshaft B7A-6250-A is original to?The box has a second number on it of EBU-6250-C.Is this a factory replacement cam for 56 292?

My manual shows B7A 6250-A as:
1957 223 6 cyl. cam
EBU 6250-C same as B5A 6250 -C 1955 and 1956 272 & 292 replacement cam.

Thanks Larry.....I guess the guy I'm getting the cam from gave me an incorrect number, because it is an 8 cylinder cam for sure.I think it probably should be B7A-6250-B.

If the cam is an EBU it will have the large cam bearings, won't fit your engine. Have him look for a casting number on the cam.

If it is an NOS EBU cam it is probably worth more than the one you want. They don't make those anymore.

I thought that might be the case,John. There are a few people out there working on the earlier Y-blocks.The large bearing cams fit the 239 and 256 engines don't they? I should have it in hand Thursday or Friday and will see what it is.
