Fordomatic/cruise-o-matic would be the easist. Others require an adapter of some fashion.

so a cruis-o-matic would fit the yblock as a direct bolt on or what has to be done to put that tranny in there

You would need to find a Cruise O Matic that was behind a Y-Block. They are out there! The conversion to C-4 or AOD will end up costing $1000 or more depending on your transmission cost and driveshaft shortening. BUT I love my AOD. Chuck in NH

For everyday use ,I would go with a FMX . They are cheap ,bullet proof ,and easy to fit behind a Y- Block . Also consider your diff gears .That will also make a big difference .Just my opinion . Lon

Howdy,
There's lot's of choices.
If it's other than a Fordo or other trans that already bolts to a Y-block, it's gonna cost money!
If you REALLY want "Bullet-Proof" you can do an E4OD like mine from a F450 Superduty bolted to my 292!

I need to get to work on this thing!!!
Cheers,
Rick
