what are everyones thoughts on armor all for tires and vinyl? Someone told me never to use it because it causes dri-rot. Ive used for years with good results though. By the time the tires get dri rot , the're worn out and need replacing anyway.Whats a good leather conditioner

I know for sure that armourall will discolor white wall tyres.

Ive always had much better luck with griots garage products.  Rubber cleaner & conditioner for tires, etc....

I dont let armor all anywhere near any of our cars.  Too much silicone, too greasy, attracts too much dust.  For plastic or vinyl dashes, I highly recommend meguires dash foam too...

For tires, I use what ever I get for free at the cruises.

Guess I'm marching to a different drummer, but I've used it for 30 yrs or more, ever since the guy who did the upholstery in my bird recommended it.  I've had nothing but good experience using it on vinyl (seats, dash, door panels), tires, and even rubber weather strip.  In fact, using it on old hard weather strip eventually softened it up considerably as well as making it look better.......I live in a cooler, wetter climate (Wester WA) and wonder if that has anything to do with it.  A friend in So Cal says it's terrible and discolored his vinal panels. ?????

I do upholstery and I use Eagle one Tire Wet to clean and condition the vinyl. It does a great job, a lot better the Armor All. It works great on white walls too.

I quit using Armor All 30 years ago when I noticed it always turned black rubber brown. I have also heard that when used on vinyl upholstery, it dissolves the stitching. I have been using all of Meguiars' products since with no complaints. They offer so many different versions, you have to experiment quite a bit though. Also, Murphy's oil soap seems to be a safe cleaner for dirty vinyl, and won't harm stitching.

I have used armor all but spray on rag not directly on the dash, seats, etc. Don"t really like it. I like "Tuff-Stuf" its a large yellow and red can available at wallyworld etc and keep the vinyl moist and cleans and its cheap. Spray on the seats (vinyl) and wipe off with damp rag. Only use simple green on tires a little mequires dressing once in a while. I stick pretty much with the many mequires product and have been happy with them.  Although "Mothers" is a pretty good product too.

Armour-All will really mess up a paint job in progress.

I had sprayed it on tires and the silicone about ruined my new paint job.

That crap travels and most painters won't use it in or near a paint booth
