I am starting get a set of 94's together to rebuild for the 312 in my 57 Bird. I have one set up that has a primary 15/16" venturi and two secondaries with 1 1/16" venturis. It is set up with progressive linkage but I wonder about the primary carb choice being to small to run on a 312. Could this have been someone's "better idea" or is just plain mismatched carbs? I have been thinking about getting a primary 94 with a choke cap and converting it to electric to use as a primary. I hate choke cables and the old heated choke caps were awful most of the time. I am pulling the engine to fix a front seal or torque converter seal leak and while it is out I will repaint and detail the engine, polish up the finned Tbird valve covers, add the Mummert valley pan and the 3x2's, and a set of headers. Haven't decided on what headers yet. I like the Mummert set but my wallet is getting thin. May have to go with some Sanderson shorties.

Mark,

I have been thinking the same thing about the center carb and electric choke.  I have a Carter which was a replacement carburetor for the ECG-6 and has an automatic choke.  I was thinking about trying the extended "butterfly" shaft from a Holley 94 to see if it will fit the Carter so that I can use the progressive linkage.   Has anybody tried this?
