I am organizing to rebuild some Holley/Ford 94's. Is Berryman's Chem dip still a "real" carb cleaner? I want to get down to the original coating on the carbs. Anybody using Caswell Chromate kits to refinish carb parts?

I've been trying to use Berryman's on some carburetors and finding it to be unsatisfactory.  Dont know what the problem is, maybe too cold in the barn.  But after 4 days of immersion a carburetor was as bad as when it went in.  The solution was first opened two months ago, so it shouldnt be too old.

Well...if you live in California and want to use Berryman's Chem-Dip don't waste your money. Don't get me wrong, the "real" stuff is extremely toxic and prone to misuse along with "who knows" disposal methods. Somehow parts are still being cleaned here but not with this stuff.
