I own one, & am planning on using the carb adapter from the small t-pot base to the holley base for a relatively stock 272 that I am using the f-250, since it is of recent rebuild, & is in better shape than the 292.

i assume that the runners are obviously different on the outer portions, as I see that with the naked eye. Will grinding out the slots, and chamfering down the "transitions" help on this manifold the way that they do on the "B"?

Or am i simply making this thing "un-sellable"?

It should respond to modifications as most manifolds will. I think it'll work reasonably well and since you already have it, it won't hurt to try it.

As far as "unsaleable" they dont sell for big bucks on Ebay. The "B" manifolds go for much more.If you change to the Holley carb don't forget you will need the later 57up dual advance distributor. The stock one only works with the original carb. The swap is certainly worth the money as far as I am concerned.I have the "B" manifold,390CFM Holley and late distributor on mine and it runs MUCH better than the stock setup.

For daily driver purposes, using a carb adapter works quite well on the ECZ-A intake when wanting to convert to a later model carburetor.  Smoothing out the transitions with a die grinder is highly recommended though and helps overall performance.  Be sure all surfaces are flat and use good quality carb gaskets to minimize the potential for any vacuum leaks when installing the adapter and carb.  Keep away from the tissue thin gaskets on this type of conversion.
