I was helping a friend of mine with his 57 TBird, "C" model (292). We had the intake off and noticed that the heads had the casting number ECZ-F. Anybody hear of these. What is the original application? Big valves or not? Thanks for any info.

Is the date code obvious on the ECZ-F heads?  Try looking for the date code either on the exhaust side of the heads or under the valve cover.  The ECZ-F heads do have the same valve sizes as the ECZ-G heads but it’s unknown to myself if they are posted or unposted or actually came both ways as is the case with the G heads.  Also not known is the combustion chamber cc’s or volume so it would be some good information if these are measured if the opportunity arises.  Gut feel says the F head has larger combustion chamber volumes than the G head based on its standard transmission applications.
