Guys, I got myself into some trouble now. There is a book about the Ford Galaxie being written (the second one) here in my country, and I was asked to write about the American Galaxie, and the origins and history of the Ford Y-Block engine, that equipped the Brazilian Galaxie from 1967 to 1975. Our engines were 272s and 292s based on the '56 US motors (had cannister oil filters).

What I'm looking for is some help about the US history of the Y-Block.

Can anybody appoint a site, or a trusty source (will be mentioned) for this material?

I don't want to do anything wrong, or releasing inaccurate information, specially being such a fan of the old Y.

Any help will be appreciated guys.

One place I would look at is 1957Ford.com. Lots of good information there.

Besides John Eichman’s Y-Block book, here’s a link to some basic history.
