I'm putting Grenada discs on the front of my 55 Vicky. I'm figuring a 2" to 3" inch drop. I would imagine a stock shock would not work right, so to anyone who has made the conversion, what shock did you use? How would I go about measuring for the correct top and bottom of shock travel? Gary

Gary,Are you using stock springs or others?Just using Granada spindles is only a difference of 1 inch as I understand it.

Your stock shocks should work.

Thanx, I've heard different #'s for the Granada's, from 1" to 2.5". I think I've got one coil cut out of the spring, not sure, been a while, so i might be at a 2" max? For the race car we had a measurement but it included diagonal weight transfer, so it's not quite the same. I'm just looking for a tried and true shock setup. I was thinking about the Gabriels? Gary

My combination is front and rear heavy sway bars, stock application KYB Gas-adjust shocks, 15x7 aluminum instead of steel rims and a premium brand of high performance all-season radial tire. I have this on my 57 Bird, a previously owned 289 CID 65 Galaxie and a current 65 Galaxie 352, and my 66 F100. Inexpensive upgrades and they will actually go around a corner and look good doing it. Through in an well maintained stock suspension, your front disc brake conversion and you have a very driveable and safe handling car. The transformation on the 57 Tbird was outstanding. I tried Gabriels on the 66 F100 and they were so harsh I chucked them for the KYB's.
