By grovedawg - 15 Years Ago I just bought a crank from a guy online, who said it was a 312... It shows up and their are no casting numbers on it. And there is no "aspirin-sized" dot on the outer edge of the crank like you see on Tim's site about identifying the crank: http://yblockguy.com/yblock_003.htm Did I just buy a paper weight? By Pete 55Tbird - 15 Years Ago Measure the diameter of the main bearings and post the results. The 312 had larger mains. Did it come from ebay? Pete By Barry L - 15 Years Ago  Any 312 cranks I've seen had  ECZ cast into the counterweight. Main journal dia. should be 2.624 at standard size.  The 272-292 @ 2.498 in standard.  Barry  By John Mummert - 15 Years Ago I have seen 312 cranks with no dot.
