New Carb?

I have a 62 F-100 with a 292 4spd. Originally I was going to replace the 292 with a 390 or a 460. However I have a soft spot for keeping together what belongs. So I am looking at keeping the 292. Second however, I'm a hot rodder so there will need to be some changesBigGrin. I plan to rebuild the 292 and add good horsepower, yet keep it dependable. I also would like to look into converting into a 5spd Tremec for driveability.

All of this will be on going as budget allows. I do need to replace the carburetor now though. My question is what would be the best carb to buy that will both work now and will work good when I rebuild and hot rod the engine?

Holley 570 Street Avenger or a Demon 525.



You can get a K&N stub stack for the Holley which increases the cfm slightly. The 4150 version of the stub stack doesn't fit the Street avenger out of the box but minor clearancing of the stub stack fixes that. I don't know if it is available for the Demon.
