OK I installed Granada spindles with disc brakes.Problem now is the front end dropped about 2" I guess and last year I installed new rear leaf springs.I now have a noticeable rake.I would like to level it.I know I need at least 2" blocks and maybe 3".How can I figure out which to buy?Thanks!

Hey Mark; Speedway has blocks, you might try 2sets of 1inch blocks, try the inch first and if not enough add the second block. Will need the right u bolts for the longer blocks, ALSO Mark they have tapered shims for the pinion angle, you may or may not need these, If you get a launch shutter the pinionangle is not right and you need a spacer. These taper spacers are 2 degrees. I ended up with only 1 --1inch block with no spacer, seems OK,, 1955 Thunderbird. Mark: There is no weird geometry here. A 2" block drops the rear 2" at the wheel opening.

Hi John!I understand that. I am not sure howto determine the difference in height between the front and back as it sits now.Do I measure at the rear of the front wheel opening and at the rear of the rear opening on level ground?

How about a carpenter's level set on the rear quarter panel trim spear? When the bubble is level, measure the distance to the trim and that's the thickness needed for your lowering block. Personally, I dig the raked look.

Mark, measure from the front wheel opening to the ground. Place a jack under the front of the car and raise it until you are happy with the rake of the car ( level or slightly nose low). Measure again, difference is the amount of blocks to install in the rear. Mike

Mike! That makes sense.I prefer the level look.Wasnt planning on lowering it but I wouldn't give up the disc brake setup and go back.Anyone else who is thinking about swapping brakes-don't think about it-do it! It like 2 different cars the way it stops.

I will need longer U-bolts.What is the diameter of the stock rear end housing OR how wide are the stock U-bolts inside to inside across?Thanks

1974 Pinto or Mustang as I recall.They are a little longer than the Granada hoses.Your parts guy should have lengths in his book.Fullsize Ford have larger thread size and wont screw into the Granada calipers.You will also need 2 frame brackets for the hoses.I ordered a pair of universal ones from my suppliers aftermarket book.The hoses face forward from the calipers and I mounted brackets just ahead of the control arms on outside of frame about 2 inches down.Ran my steel line inside frame and crossed over at the forward end of the opening in the inner apron ahead of the control arm.I had to add 2 light springs to keep the hoses up off the sway bar end.
