Went to a local swap meet today. It really kicks off the local car season annually. There was a separate area for special interest owners to park in,kind of a casual show. There was a 55 Crown Vic steeltop which I had never seen before. The owner bought it last fall and had done a fair amount of mechanical work over the winter like the front end.The motor is Ford red with late distributor and ECZ-B manifold. He was unsure of the engine size so I explained to him that if he gets the casting # off the block above the oil filter it would be helpful in identifying possibly the engine size. There was a Black 56 Crown Vic glasstop which again was new to me.Very nice restoration and although I couldnt see the motor I am sure it was an original Y-block.What is unusual about this car was the glasstop.Never sold in Canada (steeltops only). So its either a US import OR a modified steeltop with relacement glass etc which can be purchased from a couple of sources. The rarest Y-block at the show was a 55 Meteor Crown Victoria which is one of less than 200 produced.I may have mentioned this car in the past.He had no idea how rare his car is until I told him couple of years back.Interesting day.
