I went to a guys place today to pick up an intake. There were cars and trucks all over. Lost count but approx. 7 or 8 '54-'56. Two '57s, Two '57 front clips. Around 8 station wagons from 55-62, including two '60 (always like the weird 60). There wasnt a single '58 or '59. One Unibody. Engine parts all over in a general mess. Plus other later model trucks and cars. Even found a 43 or 44 1.5 ton WWII military truck. Basically it was a private salvage yard. The man, Paul, said the county is putting major pressure on him to get rid of it ALL. Unfortunately every engine compartment I looked into had the motor missing, except for a '57.About the '57. Keep in mind everything there needed major restoration. But this one still had the engine in place. I could only see through a small opening, but saw the 4V carb on top. All the glass was in place so that decades of rain hadnt entered inside the car. Didnt see any major rust issues, even though there must be some. Electric windows. Two door hardtop with all of the generous exterior trim present and good. Cant get it out of my mind, so will try to make a deal. Paul is supposed to get back with me when he locates a set of G heads he says is somewhere on the premises.
