What's the best way to bleed the power steering once car is back together.  I read some articles that say to start the engine and others that simply say to raise the front wheels and rotate lock to lock until fluid level no longer drops in resevoir.   Also, I read that the old ford systems don't work well with modern power steering fluids.

Advice?

I read somewhere that you leave the return line off the pump and crank the motor(not running) until you get a steady stream of fluid.Dont know if  Ford still sells power steering fluid but thats what I would use.

Ford pumps (Bendix/Eaton) dont particularly like modern fluids.  The original spec was called "F".  Most I know are using "FA", basically tranny fluid, which is still available at NAPA and such.
