Y-Guys: in the next few months I 'm going to build a 292

A. Two choices First, shooting for 250/275hp that streetable and doesn't break the bank(Ha)

Choice of pistons/rings(bore .040->060) Crank turn.010 or? Valves, Springs, Which heads?

I'm totally new to THE Y so, Which casting #'s etc...Cam choice(s)

I'd rather lean to more performance than streetability..

B. Second choice is same as above EXCEPT put a turbo(s) on it. My son does this for a living

so I've got that part covered. This would be a low boost motor(Jr. calls it that!)-engine

with a manual trans and 3.70/3.89 rear gear. What pistons/rings, clearances, cam, dist,

heads etc, etc....

C. I'd appreciate real life experience(s) what worked what didn't...Any links to old articles

or forums would be a bonus

D. Last of all, what NOT to do... Thx in advance Bill

Bill.  The Y-Block engine is similar to other engine designs in that it has its own set of engineering nuances to deal with.  John Mummert has outlined most of these on his site and is well worth reading to get familiar with what not to do.  Here's the link.
