Hey, I was fooling around in the local junkyard (it's like a playground for adults!) and I spotted this set of manifolds on a Y-block in an F-600 flatbed...or is it? I think it's a Y-block, the exhaust seems to be the right pattern, but I'm no expert. Are these desirable? They seem similar to the fabled ram-horns manifold.

Actually, I'm considering this engine for my Chevy Nova project (to bring the noble Fire of Ford to the heathen), but that all depends on what shape the engine is in once I finally manage to get the cab tipped. It's either that, or I weld the NOS starter into the broken bellhousing on the chevy I6, which obviously isn't ideal.

I believe that's the 332 y-block truck engine.

332? Is that still a ford, or is that the Lincoln Y? Or am I completely lost?

Wait, 332, that's an FE, isn't it? But aren't the exhaust ports evenly spaced on FEs?

It seems to resemble an MEL, but I really can't tell...man, I'm gonna go crazy unless I get that cab tipped!

FLYING JESTER, THAT SHOULD BE A 332 TRUCK MOTOR, SAME AS 317-341 LINCOLN Y-BLOCK NOTHING FITS THE FORD Y BLOCK EXCEPT THE DIST. AND OIL PUMP TOM

Is it a good engine?

I LIKE THEM, BUT I'M GOOFY!!! GOOD TORQUE, BUT THEY ARE HEAVY ABOUT 750# AND HARD TO FIND PARTS FOR. NOTHING FITS THESE MOTORS ,BUT 317-341-368 LINCOLN PARTS. I NEED A STEEL CRANK SHAFT OUT OF A 332 TRUCK MOTOR. TOM

I think that's a 292. The Lincoln manifold usually has a brace between the two humps.

I agree Charlie......All the 600 series I've seen had 292s.The 700 and 800s had the Lincoln engines and had the brace on the manifolds.I guess  the 332 might have been an option in the smaller trucks.

Are the bolt patterns of the manifold offset or in line with the head?  If they are offset it should be a 332.

Man, I need help getting this cab tilted! You folks seem pretty well acquainted with the cab-overs, how do I tilt it? There's this big lever thingy, and these two little handles...

I think the cab has springs to lift after you release the lock and safety catches.
