Does anyone know a place to get the F O R D letter decals for a 292 Y Block valve covers. I tried painting, but it looks horrible.

Thanks,

Doug: Are you sure there was decals to start with? I may be wrong, but the "Ford" covers I've seen are just painted one color, no letter decals or different color. ??.

Doug, if i get this right, i think the decals with FORD and silver backing are listed for 272 engines, carpenters and most ford reproduction deales have them. The later 292  FORD was stamped in top of valve covers. regards bill.

I'm sorry guys...you are right, my valve covers have the F O R D stamped in them. I just wanted to paint or have the F O R D in a different color than the rest of the valve cover and I was hoping someone made those letters so I didn't have to hand paint them.

Thanks again for the replies....

What you can do is take a valve cover down to your 3M or graphics place. They can take a picture of it then run it on their computer and make the vinyl letters in whatever colour you want. They are very thin and will stick to the raised letters. Several people I know have done that with the black outs in the Crown Vic tiara.

Thanks Marvh...I'll look into that...

Another way to pain them is first paint the letters with the color you want them. Then spray the whole cover and take rubbing or polishing compound and carefully remove the paint on the letters.
