I just finished modifying my center throttle body per Teds instructions, all went well. As there is now no economizer valve in the center, will I still use the valves in the other two carbs? Gary

The externally mounted spark control valves are only used when the vacuum port for the Load-O-Matic distributor is used. With that in mind, just plug the distributor vacuum port in each end carb and leave the unused spark control valves in place. If removing the spark control valves for a cleaner look, then be sure to plug that hole also as it will be a small vacuum leak otherwise.

I have several throttle bodies without the spark control valve, those can be used instead? Gary

Gary. I’m only familiar with the Holley 94’s or model 2100’s that do have the spark control valves. But if you have some Holley 94 throttle bases that came factory without the spark control valves, then I’d say give it a go but just insure that all the appropriate internal ports, bore sizes, and other holes correspond to each other accordingly.

I was using a Holley 94 without the spark valve for my center carb in a 3x2 set-up. I switched it to one with a spark valve and did the mods Ted outlined in one of his posts to run ported vacuum to the dist. with a 94. It worked great.

The plugs used to block off the power valve can also be used in the spark control valve hole.

Where can you get the plugs to block off power valves? I have a friend that made his own, but I noticed his engine suffers a lean fuel mixture when it pulls hard. How do you deal with this problem that occurs with the power circuit disabled? Thanks

chiggerfarmer (6/22/2010) Where can you get the plugs to block off power valves?Sources would include Jegs or Summit. The Holley number for the power valve block off is 26-36.
The Mr.Gasket number is 1510.
The Quick Fuel number is 25-1.
The AED number is 5086.

ThanksMeasuring the PCVR (power valve channel restrictions) behind the power valve and upsizing the jets by that amount typically cures the lean condition that’s experienced by blocking the power valves. Not measuring and simply going up by roughly 6 numbers on jet size can be a starting point.

My throttle assy's w/o the spark valve looks like the way I'm gonna go for the end carbs. I also have a 94 with auto choke that I won't be using, if anyone needs one let me know. Gary
