The drive comes with that retaining washer installed on the distributor end.  The stock drive has the retaining washer on the oil pump end - to prevent the drive from pulling out when the distributor is removed.

I cannot see how the ARP drive will work with the washer on the distributor end.  I've tried inserting it from the top of the block and the bottom of the block.  If inserted from the top the distributor will not go all the way in.  If inserted from the bottom, the distributor does not engage the drive.

Before I pry off the washer and put it on the oil pump end, as stock, I want to make sure I'm not missing something.

Thank you! That Helps.

Now let's get this engine finnished and installed!

Edit: I think the answer to my question was pm'd.

The answer is the washer has to removed and installed on the other end.
