Correct torque specs.

The 55 shop manual, in the assembly instructions, specifies 10-12 ft. lbs. for both the "oil tube to oil pump" nut, AND the "oil tube to oil pan" nut. But, the torque limit list in the back pages says 28-32 ft. lbs. for the tube-to-pan nut. Anybody know which is correct?

Daniel, the 56 manual lists the torque as 28-32 in the pan section and the torque specs. This seems more appropriate to me. Hope this helps. Mike

BTW, instructions that came with Precision/Melling pump gives a higher (18 ft. lbs.) limit for tube-to-pump nut.



Now all I have to do is get the proper open-end torque wrench adapter/foot and do the math.

Bill you're right! I don't think anybody actually torques that nut. By the way Daniel if you do decide to torque turn the crows foot 90 degrees to the head of the torque wrench, no math required. Mike
