We'll I'm finally in Dearborn. Seems the speed sensor in the rearend got hot and melted! Now I'm looking for someone to put in a new ring and pinion in the Dearborn area. Mine is really grooved and somewhat noisy!! Chuck

I'm stuck near a town called Northeast on rt 20 and I90. Lost the pinon seal on my 2000 B350 Dodge van, 5.9, automatic with the 6 bolt rear end. I think the bearings are ok but I need to get a seal and get it put in. Tomorrow if possiblew00t I know its short notice but I'm carry a load of furniture to my daughter in Dearborn and need to get back on the road. I have some gear oil and there is a parts store nearby (if they are open Sunday??) Stuck Chuck (another year)Doze

my CEL is 603-867-5301

Did you get any help?

Not from the forum. Found a decent mechanic that checked it out on Sunday. I'm having it rebuilt now by a shop in Detroit. Chuck

Guy I met that got me on the road again was a really nice guy. When I arrived in Dearborn I contacted Dave Dare (simplyconnected on this forum)from Royal Oak, MI. He put me in touch with Randy Carron of "RC Trans & Gear" who took the van right in. The ring and pinion were wiped (badly grooved) but only one bearing was really bad. He rebuilt the whole thing axel to axel and had in back in 1 1/2 days. Randy is an old drag guy from the area and owns a super Mopar that may be on the cover of the current Hot Rod. If not the cover it will be inside. I'll take a short trip tomorrow to set the gears and then head home friday. Wish me luck! Chuck from NH
