What do you mean by 14 bolt? Don't be afraid to give it some. I drove from Indiana to Maine in a 58 F500 and it rolled 65 all the way, and it was the first time it ever left the farm in its life, I think an F250 should go better than 50.

I am not quite following you, in your first post you say you want to lower it and put the 14 bolt in, now you are saying the 14 bolt is so low geared its buzzing like crazy. Is it in already or what? ( I have heard a lot of people putting Ford rearends in Scrubs but never the other way around) 2nd, it should have came with a 9" ford which is the best rearend out there and you can find a mutitude of gear ratios for it, why wouldn't you just stick with the 9" and put higher gears?

Hello and welcome.
A '63 F250 should have a Dana axle of some sort.

Welcome Ty If you put a chevy rear end in it, you will have two different wheel patterns to deal with, If you are going to lower it why not put F-100 parts on the front end and a 9 in the rear. You can put on smaller diameter wheels with the ford pick-up pattern.

Welcome to the forum. Lots of good advice and conversation here. Yep...I had a 64 F250 4spd 292, Heavy duty floating axle Dana. 8 lugs with split rims. At 65mph the motor was fully wound up. Couldn't bust it though. It was stolen twice and left by the side of the road out of gas. Drove for many years hauling ridiculous loads after that.

thank you for the welcomes the only reason im putting the 14 bolt in it is because i already have it and its the gear ratio i want i would put a 9 inch in but i need one first it has a dana 60 in it and the lug pattern is the same between the 14 and 60 i will probably notch the frame and do a spring under im not sure how to lower the front yet but i might look into doing f 100 front end but we ll see

For 63 in a 250 you probably have 4:56's for gears. Both of my 61 F250's both have that ratio. They'll run over 60mph no problem but their screaming pretty good. No lugging at that point!! Surprisingly my one if driven 60-63mph will pull down 13-15 mpg with turning 2800-3000 rpm's. If I were ever to get it changed down to the 3:73's like what your doing it should do 16mpg I would think.
