By 62galxe - 15 Years Ago On my 63 F100 I get a vibration on deceleration at 70 and up. New driveshaft made it better. Have a new bushing in the tailshaft. Have a small amount of play in the slip yoke. The truck uses the original bellhousing and front mount setup. The mounts are new. This lets the trans hang with no mount as did the original trans. The T5 is about 8" longer so this changes the shaft angle a minor amount. Opinions. My thoughts are new yoke. What yoke are yall usin? Would a crossmember and trans mount help or would a 3rd mount create a bind. Thanks By Bob's 55 - 15 Years Ago Have you tried 'Phasing the driveline'. There are many sites on the WEB that go into detail of pinion angle drive shaft, etc; and explain it much better than I could, not to mention I would be afraid that this site would lock up about the time I was going to post. By charliemccraney - 15 Years Ago I assume you did not have this vibration before. If the yoke seems to have excess play, then replacing it may help. I don't think a crossmember is absolutely necessary. The t5 felt like it weighed less than the 3spd I removed and the bulk of the t5 weight is positioned in about the same area as the 3spd. But, with it being longer, if there are any forces acting near the slip yoke, it will have a more dramatic effect. Can you rig a temporary crossmember in order to trouble shoot - or just go ahead and build one if you want to. I didn't have any vibrations before or after the t5. Mine's a little different in that the yoke was only a few years old and I'm using a crossmember. By 62galxe - 15 Years Ago Charlie what yoke are you using. Mine is from a C4 with a lot of miles. Be sure that the U-Joints at each end of the driveshaft are also in perfect alignment with each other.  Either U-Joint being clocked slightly different from the other will increase the chances for a driveline vibration.
