Has anyone ran there sparkplug leads over the top of the manifold, if so how? I was just wondering as I cant see what my leads are doing behind the motor, I know there not mounted well and its like spaghetti back there..

Ive seen them run that way, and never saw them neat. Always looked like spaghetti.

They can look neat and organized when installed as originally designed. You need the correct bracket and rubber bushing set.Available from Tee-Bird,Concours,and Macs for example.About $25.00 complete kit.

Run motor in pitch black and you will see what is going on there. Like others said, original brackets are the only neat way.

I have seen them run that way, but I'm with Mark on this one. It could end up looking like 90% of the big block Mopars out there.

This is the way Ford did it on the big truck engines....there must be something missing from this arrangement - I'd hate to see what those manifolds eventually did to the plug wires...

i never saw that before.what did it come out of.

I don't know what truck this outfit came out of - it was on ebay a couple of years ago, sold by a truck repair outfit in California ($250). It sure makes you think that it would be possible to build something like the wire holders fitted to the early Olds V8's though. Longer valve cover studs would let you do a little "inventing"........

I think wires look best when routed the original way. Mike

Yup, Hate to replace them but they do look nice when dressed properly in original clamps and blocks.

No reason not to go original, all the parts are avaiable reproduction and not expensive

Mike,

If those are 8.5mm wires in the stock brackets, great job! I don't even like putting stock wires in them.

The mock-up of my current setup:

It's a small block, or maybe big block... It's an other engine Duraspark with all of the guts removed.
