Twice now I have had my speedometer quit since installing the T10 after a couple hundred miles each time. the last time I took my speedometer all apart in my 55, installed different odometer and reassembled making sure everything was lubricated and working well. Well after about 160 miles my speedo quits again.

I am thinking that the T10 gear sits deeper in the trans than the original and the cable is coming out of the gear, does it use the same gear as the original trans? I keep resetting it to zero so I can keep track of the miles on my motor but it keeps quitting on me.

The teeth may not be matching up. Pull the drive gear on the tranny end of the cable and see if it's chewed up.

The 55 cable is different than the one for the T-10. You need to change to 57 or later. What gear are you using on your end?

The gears are not getting chewed up, I originally had a 20 but switched to a 19 tooth since my rear ratio is higher and wanted my speedo to be a little more correct, I think I need to go down 1 more tooth though if I can find one.

I don't think I have a later cable other than from a truck, would that be the correct one?
